Kenneth Gene Smith

Mr. Kenneth Gene Smith, age 62, of Unionville, TN, passed away January 14, 2024 in Shelbyville, TN.   Kenny was born in Shelbyville, TN, and was the son of the late Willie Gene Smith and Laura Ruth Read Smith.  He was the owner/operator of KGS Profreighters and was a member of the Church of Christ.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Melody Dawn Smith.

Kenny enjoyed gardening.  He loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.  He had a passion for messing with projects and farming.  

Mr. Smith is survived by his son, Kenneth Justin Smith of Florida; sister, June (Jeff) Elnicki of Tullahoma, TN; nieces and nephews, Alexandra (Billy) Randt, Nicholas Odeneal, Matthew Elnicki, Rachelle Elnicki; great nephew, Garrison Randt.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 10 AM until 11 AM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM on Friday, January 19, 2024 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Dr. Marvin “Buddy” Koonce officiating.  Interment will follow in Simpson Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County, TN.

Justin Smith, Nicholas Odeneal, Matthew Elnicki, Mark Branham, Billy Randt, and Michael Puckett will serve as pallbearers.
