Laura Smith

Mrs. Laura Ruth Read Smith, age 77, of Unionville, TN, died Thursday, April 9, 2020 in Tullahoma, TN. Born in Nashville, TN, she was a daughter of Elder James Read and May Donaldson Read who both preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith was a retired Office Manager with Ferris Brothers Repair and was a member of New Zion Church of Christ in Christiana, TN. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Gene Smith, who died in 2016; a daughter, Melody Dawn Smith and a sister, Sandra Read Gillespie.

Survived by her daughter, June (Jeff) Elnicki of Tullahoma, TN; a son, Kenneth Gene Smith of Unionville, TN; a brother, James D. Read of FL; step-mother, Josephine Read of Franklin, TN; 6 Grandchildren.

Following a Private Graveside Service on Saturday, April 11, 2020, burial will follow at Simpson Cemetery in Bedford Co.
