Mrs. Lavada Jane Crockett Carlton, age 95, of the Rover Community of Bedford County, died Tuesday, June 5, 2018 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Mrs. Carlton was born in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late William Eugene and Maymie Fann Crockett. She was a life long member of Rover Baptist Church and also, actively attended St. Paul United Methodist Church, both of which meant much to her. Mrs. Carlton, along with her late husband Earl, were the co-owners and operators of the former Carlton’s General Store in Rover which served the community for over 60 years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carlton was also preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Earl Carlton, who died in 2008, and her brother, Ray Fann.
Mrs. Carlton is survived by her son, Steve (Lana) Carlton, Rover Comm.; daughter, Donna Belew, Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Stephenie (Kyle) Daniel, Jeremy (Allison) Carlton, Alex (Sarah) Belew; great grandchildren, Leighton, Alena and Reina Daniel, Sean and Sydnee Carlton, Riah and Mason Belew.
Visitation with family members will be Friday, June 8, 2018 from 11:00 am until 1:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Friday from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Scotty Sorrells and Rev. Jimmy Sorrells officiating. Burial will follow in Cothran Cemetery.
