Leonard Helton

Mr. Leonard Dorris Helton, age 76, of Chapel Hill, TN, died Mon., Mar. 24, 2014. A native of Bedford Co., Mr. Helton was the son of the late Fred and Hazel Beatrice Helton. Leonard was a retired printer with American Can in Shelbyville and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nelle Haynes Helton who died in 2008, and by an infant sister, Carlene Helton.

Survived by 3 daughters, Sherry Perryman of Chapel Hill; Rita Pendergrast of Unionville; Lisa Spence of Linden, TN; a son, Steve Helton of Chapel Hill; 2 sisters, Lorene Reynolds of Shelbyville; Effie Bartlett of Chicago, IL; 2 brothers, Eddie Helton of Chicago, IL; J.W. Helton of Unionville; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren

. Visitation will be from 4pm – 8pm, Wed., Mar. 26, 2014 at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm, Thurs., Mar. 27, 2014 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Osteen - Helton Cemetery near Chapel Hill with Military Honors.
