Leonard Mayes

Mr. Leonard Mayes, age 71, of Chapel Hill, TN, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his home.  Mr. Mayes was a native of Williamson County, TN and a son of the late Thad and Grace Crutcher Mayes.  He was a retired farmer and member of Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Horace Mayes, Clyde Lyles, Jimmy Mayes and his sisters, Myrtle Rushing and Wilma Jean Robertson.

Mr. Mayes is survived by his long time companion, Clara Gannis, Antioch, TN; children, Zonna Mayes of Smyrna, TN, Zerene Mayes of Smyrna, TN, Dierra Mayes of Murfreesboro, TN, and LeAnn Hayes of Smyrna, TN; devoted niece, Kimberly Mayes McLean of Chapel Hill, TN; sisters, Robbie Baugh of Nashville, TN, Frances Pitts of Chapel Hill, TN; sister-in-law, Peggy Mayes of Chapel Hill, TN; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 11 AM- 12 NOON at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, TN.  Funeral services will be conducted at 12 NOON on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home.

Nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Nieces will serve as honorary floral bearers.
