Leslie Newsom

Mr. Leslie “Porky” Newsom, age 54, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Columbia, Tennessee. Mr. Newsom was born in Bedford County and was a son of the late William Frank “Bill” and Frances Armetha Lynch Newsom. He was a member of Holts Corner Baptist Church and was employed for over 25 years with Rogers Group, Pottsville, TN. Mr. Newsom was preceded in death by two brothers, William Newsom and Doyle Newsom.

Mr. Newsom is survived by his wife of 23 years, Wendy Newsom, Chapel Hill, TN; daughter, Elizabeth Newsom, Chapel Hill, TN; daughters/nieces, Jennifer Lynn Curtis and Nickie Nocole Lynch,both of Chapel Hill, TN; son/nephew, Clyde Edward Ragsdale, Lewisburg, TN; sisters, Carolyn Sharp, Unionville, TN, Kathy Prouty, Unionville, TN, Mary Florence Leverette, Longview Comm., Debra Newsom, Unionville, TN, Patsy Newsom, Unionville, TN; brothers, Thomas Lynch, Johnny Lynch, Claude Lynch and Randy Lynch, all of Shelbyville, TN; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nancy and Charlie Dunaway, Chapel Hill, TN; sister-in-law, Susan Witty, Chapel Hill, TN and other loving family members.

Family members will receive friends on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Burial will follow in Cothran Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County.
