Mrs. Margaret Marlin, age 78, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Monday afternoon, April 1, 2013 in Columbia, Tennessee. Mrs. Marlin was born in Marshall County and was a daughter of the late Oscar and Maggie Neathery Ring. She was retired from Genesco Corporation of Chapel Hill after 43 years of service. Mrs. Margaret also was the former owner of the Dairy Bar and Country Diner restaurants in Chapel Hill. She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Chapel Hill. Mrs. Marlin was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Marlin who died in 1989.
Mrs. Marlin is survived by two nieces, Eva (Alvin) Ingram, Chapel Hill, TN, Ann Mancha, Franklin, TN. She was Me-Maw to Dana Ingram and her two sons, Jacob and Joseph Ingram; Teva (R.J.) Schillig and her children, Jayce and Sara Grace Schilling; Nancy Freeman, Marcie Beech, Melissa and Ashley McDonald. Mrs. Marlin is also survived by a special friend and buddy, Brownie Leverette.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Douglas and Joe Coble officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
Rue Minor, Charles Leverette, James Coleman, Joe Coble, R. J. Schillig, and Billy Purdom will serve as active pallbearers. The Adult lV Sunday School Class of Smyrna Baptist Church; Chris Gilbert, Glen Neathery, Matt Norton and James Ingram will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
