Marvin Moore, Jr.

Mr. Marvin Walker Moore, Jr., age 89, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015.  Mr. Moore was born in Davidson County and was a long time resident of Marshall County.  He was a son of the late Missouri Brooks Moore and Marvin Walker Moore, Sr.  Mr. Moore was a retired tool and die maker retiring from Avco Corporation of Nashville.  He was a charter member and deacon of Caney Spring Baptist Church in the Caney Spring Community of Marshall County.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Bell Moore, who died in 2007.

Mr. Moore is survived by daughters, Rheba Moore Walls and husband, David, Chapel Hill, TN, Bettye Moore Smith and husband, Dennis, St. Augustine, FL; son, Marvin Moore, III and wife Janice, Chapel Hill, TN; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends on Saturday, December 26, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen McCollum and Rev. Edward Minor officiating.  Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
