Mrs. Mary Florence “Nanny” Lynch Leverette, age 70, of the Midland Community of Bedford County, died Monday, October 19, 2020 in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
Mrs. Leverette was born in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late William Frank “Billy” and Frances Armetha Lynch Newsom. She was a homemaker and, before her retirement, worked at Durango Boot Company in Chapel Hill and later at Rich Products in Murfreesboro. Mrs. Leverette attended Cornerstone Church in Shelbyville.
In addition to her parents, “Nanny” was also preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Leverette, who died in 2016, children, Tommy Leverette, Jerry Leverette, Teresa Leverette and Wanda Bustamante; sisters, Catherine Prouty and Carolyn Sharp; and brothers, Randy Newsom, Leslie Newsom, William Newson and Doyle Newsom.
Mrs. Leverette is survived by her children, Rhonda Sandoval, Lesa (Luis) Ayala, Tracy (Susan) Leverette, Lisa Leverette, all of Shelbyville, TN, Joe (Tina) Leverette, Unionville, TN; sisters, Patsy Newsom and Debbie Newsom, both of Unionville, TN; brothers, Claude (Janet) Newsom, Timmy Newsom, Thomas Lynch, Johnny Lynch, all of Shelbyville, TN; eighteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Family members will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Hannah officiating. Burial will follow in Cothran Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County.
In light of the present health crisis, all attending either the visitation time or funeral services for Mrs. Leverette are requested to please wear a mask.
