Mrs. Mary “Lib” Davenport, age 82, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, formerly of Eagleville, Tennessee, died Monday, January 4, 2021 at her home in Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Davenport was born in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late John Freeland and Ida Pearl Maupin Underwood. She was a life long homemaker and member of Rocky Glade Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas “J.T.” Davenport, who died in 2007; a sister, Annie Laura Smotherman; and brother, B. A. Underwood.
Mrs. Davenport is survived by her children, John Richard (Angela) Davenport, Summertown, TN, Brenda Fay (Dennis) Ridley, Chapel Hill, TN; sisters, Evelyn Plunkett, Eagleville, TN, Frances Chaffin, Eagleville, TN; grandchildren, Tara Nichols, John Thomas Davenport, Lizzie Davenport, Katelyn Massey, Sam Massey, Megan Ashworth, Chelsea Ashworth; six great grandchildren; and her special four legged companion, Laken.
Family members will receive friends on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Sears officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Glade Cemetery near Eagleville.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
