Maxine Smithson

Mrs. Maxine Ford Smithson, age 78, of Paris, Tennessee, formerly of Nashville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in Paris after an extended illness. Mrs. Smithson was born in Williamson County and was a daughter of the late Eugene and Myrtle Lorene Ivery Ford. She was a member of Allisona Church of Christ and was retired from Opryland Hotel where she worked in hospitality services. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jean Owen and a son, Ivery Dale Owen.

Mrs. Smithson was a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by her children, Joann Baker (Joe Tarver), Adrian, MI, Mary Alice Owen (Eddie Giles), Franklin, TN, Don Owen (Lisa Parker), Paris, TN; sisters, Johnny McCoy, Shelbyville, TN, Sadie (James) Ingram, Chapel Hill, TN; brother, Garvin (Nancy) Ford, College Grove, TN; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at College Grove Cemetery with Elmer McCoy, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in College Grove Cemetery. .
