Michael "Pot Gut" Gillespie

Mr. Michael “Pot Gut” Gillespie, age 46, of Spring Hill, TN formerly of Chapel Hill, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 in Nashville, TN.  He was a native of Tennessee and was a son of Jimmy Joe Gillespie and the late Anna Margaret Joyce Gillespie.  Michael worked in general maintenance for the Williamson County Ag Expo Center.  He went to Smyrna Baptist Church and worked there doing general maintenance.  Michael was a graduate of the Class of 1992 at Forrest High School in Chapel Hill, TN.  Pot Gut always enjoyed racing, lawn maintenance and landscaping, and his animals.

Michael is survived by his companion, Cynthia “Doodle” Ford of Spring Hill, TN; his father, Jimmy Joe (Sarah) Gillespie of Shelbyville, TN; sister, Tammy (Michael) Heiden of Chapel Hill, TN; brother, Joey (Kelly) Gillespie of Chapel Hill, TN; Best friend, Dale (Tracie) Oechsel of College Grove, TN; pal, Annie; nieces and nephews Andrea Baker, Kyle Griffy, Kendall Gillespie, Kennedy Gillespie, Kayla Gillespie, Katie (Shane) Piersol, Betsy (Andy) Iszler.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Smyrna Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, TN.  Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Smyrna Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, TN with family members officiating.  Interment will follow at Joyce-Epperson Cemetery near Chapel Hill, TN.

Dale Oechsel, David Seibers, Dale Seibers, Troy Crutcher, Ronnie Crutcher, and Johnny Gillespie will serve as pallbearers.
