Myrtle Ivery

Mrs. Myrtle Ruth Owen Ivery, age 87, of College Grove, Tennessee, died Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Mrs. Ivery was born in Williamson County and was a daughter of the late Robert Henry and Robbie Ruth Lynch Owen. She was a long time member of the College Grove Church of Christ. Mrs. Ivery retired after 24 years of service with Genesco Corporation of Chapel Hill. Following retirement, she worked at the College Grove School cafeteria for many more years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Roy Ivery, who died in 2002; a grandson, Brian Anderson; great grandson, Gage Helsell; four brother and two sisters.

Mrs. Ivery is survived by daughters, Sandy Ivery Banner, College Grove, TN, Sheila (Ed) Blackwood, Columbia, TN; son, Owen (Terri) Ivery, Lascassas, TN; sister, Ann Danner, Boise, Idaho; brothers, Jesse Owen, Franklin, TN, Ed Owen, Franklin, TN, Jimmy Owen, Riggs Crossroads Comm; six grandchildren, Dana (Greg) Kellow, Tom Ivery, Kimberly (Ken) Ham, Misty (Jody) Riley, Greg Anderson, Michael Banner; ten great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Keely, Chelsea, Nathan, Greyson, Conner, Tyler, Emma Grace, Morgan, Caleb; four great great grandchildren, Tristan, Chevy, Kinley, Rylend.

Family members will receive friends on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Ed Slayton officiating. Burial will follow in College Grove Cemetery.

Tom Ivery, Greg Anderson, Michael Banner, Jody Riley, Kenny Ham, Conner Ham and Nathan Ivery will serve as active pallbearers. Joyce King Davis, members of College Grove Church of Christ and the Staff of NHC Healthcare Murfreesboro will serve as honorary pallbearers.
