Mrs. Nancy K. Moorehead, age 68, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Saturday morning, March 30, 2024 at her home in Chapel Hill. Mrs. Moorehead was born in Wayne County, Tennessee and was a daughter of the late Burbin C. and Viola Ray Kelly. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Lay and Jeane Thacker.
Nancy retired in 2010 after 18 years of service at First State Bank in Chapel Hill where she served as the Senior Executive Officer and Compliance Officer for the bank. Following her retirement, she was afforded the opportunity to spend time with her family and especially her seven grandchildren which were the twinkle in her eye. Nancy remained active in the Chapel Hill Community and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Moorehead is survived by her husband of 42 years, Mike Moorehead, Chapel Hill, TN; two sons, Matt (Ashley) Moorehead, Chapel Hill, TN, Will (Mallory) Moorehead, College Grove, TN; two sisters, Margaret (Ken) Horn, McMinnville, TN, Shirley Kelley, Waynesboro, TN; seven grandchildren, Grayson Moorehead, Tatum Moorehead, Nolan Moorehead, Tucker Moorehead, Griffin Moorehead, Owen Moorehead, Milton Moorehead; brother-in-law, Billy Wade Lay, Collinwood, TN; sister-in-law, Bandi Brown, Tullahoma, TN; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. A Celebration of the Life of Nancy will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the Church with Rev. Kelli Hamilton and Rev. Tim McGehee officiating.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations, in memory of Nancy K. Moorehead, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
