Nelle West

Mrs. Nelle Watkins West, age 96, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Saturday evening, October 14, 2017 in Tifton, Georgia where she had been residing for the last four years. Mrs. West was born in Marshall County and was a daughter of the late Joe Penn and Ayune Walker Watkins. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward West, Sr., who died in 2013, a son Jim West, and a brother, Charles Watkins.

Mrs. West is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joe W. and Joy West, Tifton, Georgia; grandchildren, Rachel West, Ft. Collins, CO, Jordan West, Newnan, GA; long time employee and special family friend, Alvin Ingram, Chapel Hill, TN; and staff and her many friends at Maple Court Senior Residence in Tifton, Georgia.

Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. David Johnson and Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Franklin, TN.

Jordan West, Alvin Ingram, Randy West, Robert West, Mack West, Nathan Sawyer, Herb Hulme, Ron Utley and Jimmy Spratt will serve as pallbearers.
