Nettie Adcock

Mrs. Nettie Mae Barlow Adcock, age 78, of the Wheel Community of Bedford County, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Mrs. Adcock was born in Bedford County and was a homemaker. She worked for over 20 years for Uniroyal, Inc. of Shelbyville and retired from Mid-Tenn Tanning of Shelbyville. Mrs. Adcock was a member of Edgemont Baptist Church in Shelbyville. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Adcock, who died in 1989; father, Willie P. “Bill” Barlow; son Dewayne Adcock; brother, Thurman Barlow; step-mother, Ruby Neeley Barlow; step-father, C. B. McCormick.

Mrs. Adcock is survived by her son, Johnnie Ray Adcock, Clay Hill Comm.; mother, Ola McCormick, Shelbyville, TN; sisters, Judy Pope, Shelbyville, TN, Lorraine Casteel, Lakeland, FL; brothers, Charles McCormick, Mitchell McCormick, Melvin McCormick, Mickey McCormick, all of Shelbyville, TN, Lorne Barlow, Wheel Comm.; three grandchildren, Tammy Jolley, Brandy Garner, Candy Hames; five great grandchildren, Ethan Jolley, Taylor Jolley, Ella Grace Hames, Remy Garner, Carter Hames.

Family members will receive friends on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby McGee officiating. Burial will follow in Crowell Chapel Cemetery in the Halls Mill Community of Bedford County.

Charles McCormick, Mickey McCormick, Melvin McCormick, Mitchell McCormick, Lorne Barlow, Alton Pope, Allen Pope and Haywood Pope will serve as pallbearers.
