Norma Elvin Hatcher Chick

Mrs. Norma Elvin Hatcher Chick, age 83, of Cane Ridge, TN, died Thursday, July 28, 2022 at her residence.  She was born in Williamson County, TN and was a daughter of the late Horace Hatcher and Fannie Elizabeth Ivery Hatcher Bochy.  Mrs. Chick was a member of Gilroy Church of Christ, but previously was a member of Tusculum Church of Christ.  She was retired from Castner-Knott in sales.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Thomas Adrian Chick; sisters, Minerva Foster, Faye Anderson, Sarah Voss; brothers, Henry Thomas (HT) Hatcher and Melvin Hatcher.

Elvin enjoyed time with her grandchildren and family.  She loved growing and picking flowers (whether they were hers or not), collecting everything (including restaurant condiments), listening to Irish music, Socks, the cat, and daily reminders to her husband of 61 years that he promised to let her sleep as late as she wanted and to wait on her every need.  He happily complied!  She was a good mother and a good wife and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Chick is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, William Thomas “Mr. Bill” Chick of Cane Ridge, TN; daughter, Twana Chick of Cane Ridge, TN; grandchildren, Abigail, Anderson, and Amelia Chick; daughter-in-law, Amy Bridges Chick of Mt. Juliet, TN; sisters-in-law, Ann Mathews Hatcher, Jackie Hatcher Hannah; brother-in-law, Ed Voss; nieces and nephews, Patricia McCord Vaughan; Paul Anderson; V’Lyndi Voss Fisher, Hemlatha Bangaru, Hans Voss; Tommy, Timmy, and Travis Hatcher; Tonya Hite; Cheryl Hatcher Douglas, Donna Hatcher Burnette; Bruce Wardlaw; Ray Chick; cousins, Connie Alloway, Mary Ann Newcomb, and a host of other family.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 12 noon until 4 pm at Cane Ridge Community Center, 6043 Cane Ridge Road, Cane Ridge, TN 37013 with a Celebration of Life service to be conducted at 4 pm there with Jim Minor officiating.  Interment will be in the Chick Family Cemetery in the Cane Ridge Community of Davidson County.
