Peggy Clanton
June 4, 1946 — February 11, 2015
Mrs. Peggy Ann Smotherman Clanton, age 68, of Rockvale, TN, died Wed., Feb. 11, 2015. A native of Rutherford Co., Mrs. Clanton was a daughter of the late Hoyte Smotherman and Mattie Belle Faulkner Smotherman. She was retired from the Rutherford Co. Solid Waste Dept. and was a member of Liberty in Christ Church in Murfreesboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Larry Smotherman.
Survived by a son, Tommy (Kristy) Smotherman of Shelbyville; 2 sisters, Marie Dalton of Rockvale; Hazel (Larry) Smitty of Murfreesboro; a brother, Mark (Sharon) Smotherman of Bell Buckle; 4 grandchildren, Leah, Haley and Ashlie Smotherman, Dawn Mooneyham; a great grandchild, Angel Isabella “Izzy” Mooneyham.
Visitation will be from 4PM – 8PM, Fri., Feb. 13, 2015 at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Sat., Feb. 14, 2015 at 11AM from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Smitty officiating. Burial will follow at Whitworth Cemetery in the Link community of Rutherford Co.
