Peggy Smithson

Mrs. Peggy Smithson, age 76, of Gallatin, TN, formerly of the Flat Creek Community in Williamson County, TN, died Sunday, June 18, 2023 at her residence.  Mrs. Peggy was born in Nashville, TN, and was a daughter of the late George Edward Cole and Margaret Ora Brown Cole.  She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Ash Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  She was retired from working in customer service for WestingHouse and also with BellSouth.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Beverly Mendel and Patsy Fann.

Mrs. Peggy loved lake life, vacations in Florida at the beach, and boating.  She enjoyed collecting bells.  Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Mr. Donnie Smithson of Gallatin, TN; daughter, Nicole Smithson of Chapel Hill, TN; 2 grandchildren, Amanda (Kenneth) Hargrove of Franklin, TN, Tyler (Courtney) McPeak of Lewisburg, TN; 3 great grandchildren, Kylee Hargrove, Oliver McPeak, Owen McPeak; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vicky and Kenneth Hartley of the Cross Keys Community; cousins, Sandy & Mackie Glenn of Nolensville, TN, Julia Taliaferro of Eagleville, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 4 PM - 8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Ward Jones officiating.  Interment will follow at the Giles-Daniels Cemetery in Williamson County, TN.
