Rev. Herman Sparks, age 81, of the Caney Spring Community of Marshall County, died Sunday morning, January 17, 2021 in Lewisburg, Tennessee.
Rev. Sparks was born in Irvine, Kentucky and was a son of the late Issac Thomas and Mary Margaret Shearer Sparks. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Blanche Barrett Sparks, who died in 2017; sisters, Marie Culton, Elsie Still, Addie Sparks, Nannie Sparks; brothers, Glendon Sparks, Earl Sparks, Sidney Sparks, John Sparks, James Sparks, William Arthur Sparks, and Delbert Eugene Sparks.
He retired from Walker Die Casting in Lewisburg, Tennessee after 11 years of service. Bro. Sparks was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Assembly Church in Chapel Hill and retired after over 50 years of serving as a Pentecostal Minister.
Rev. Sparks is survived by his daughters, Irene Brock, Chapel Hill, TN, Debra (Eddie) Phelps, Morgantown, KY, Donna (Tim) Golden, Chapel Hill, TN; son, David (Carrie) Sparks, Shelbyville, TN; sister, Etta Embry, Waco, KY; 27 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and special family friend, Jamie Karpinski, Chapel Hill, TN.
Due to the present health crisis, there will be a private family service with burial to follow in Derryberry Cemetery in Williamson County.
Eddie Phelps, Nathan Sparks, Cody Sparks, Chris Bates, Lee Bates, Lucas Dye, Kevin Golden, Ronnie Pierson and Glen Slone will serve as pallbearers.
