Richard Oechsel

Mr. Richard Oechsel, age 68, of Chapel Hill, TN, formerly of College Grove, TN died Sunday, January 20, 2019 at his residence.  He was a native of Berwyn, IL, and was a son of the late Robert and Marjorie Violet Jones Oechsel.  Richard was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and was of the Christian faith.  He was retired from the Williamson County Highway Department as an equipment operator.  Mr. Oechsel had also worked for Taylor’s Grocery in College Grove, TN and had been a member of the College Grove Fire Department.  Richard was a member of the Owen Hill Lodge #172 of the Free and Accepted Masons.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce Oechsel and Michael Oechsel.

Mr. Oechsel is survived by his wife, Irine Oechsel of Chapel Hill, TN; children, Sherry Mealer of Franklin, TN and son, Dale (Tracie) Oechsel of College Grove, TN; brother, Robert Grant Oechsel of Lyles, TN; grandchildren, Daniel Mealer of Rockvale, TN and Kasie Mealer of Chapel Hill, TN; 2 great grandchildren, Joseph Rogers and Joshua Rogers.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 11 AM until 1 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 with Pastor Tony Cansler officiating.  Interment will follow in Beard Cemetery in Williamson County, TN.
