Roberta Owens

Mrs. Roberta Owens, age 80, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Sunday evening, November 6, 2016 in Columbia, Tennessee. Mrs. Owens was born in Gypsy, Kentucky and was a daughter of the late Sherman and Roxie Hackworth Risner. She was a homemaker and, before moving to Tennessee from Michigan, was a retired factory worker. Mrs. Owens attended Smyrna Baptist Church in Chapel Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Bud Owens, who died in 1999, a sister, Vinetta Hackworth and her son-in-law, Kitt McCone.

Mrs. Owens is survived by her children, Rita McCone, Chapel Hill, TN, Donna (Jerry) Troyer, Sturgis, MI, Johnny (Sherry) Owens, Ball Ground, GA; sisters, Loretta Miller, Homer, MI, Juanita Brown, Parma, MI, Doris Owens, West Liberty, KY, Maxine Yeager, Homer, MI; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Pastor Garvel Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.

Chris McCone, Jason Jones, Brandon Owens, Cody McCone, Kitt McCone, Chase Hunter, Kevin McWatters, and Trent Ellis will serve as pallbearers.
