Mr. Ron Stinson, age 60, died peacefully Friday morning, February 22, 2019 at his home in the Holt’s Corner Community of Marshall County. Mr. Stinson was born in Davidson County, Tennessee and was a son of the late Ulery Auline and Edna Lenora Stinson. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Stinson was a member and served as a deacon at Smyrna Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, Tennessee.
Mr. Stinson was a second generation printer and owner–operator of Woodward & Stinson Printing Company, Inc. of Columbia, Tennessee, which has been in business in Columbia since 1955. He was a member of many professional printers associations and the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce.
Ron was a member of Forrest High School Class of 1976 and served as statistician for three years for both the football and basketball teams. He also loved soccer and was a member and former president of the Golden Goal Club. Mr. Stinson was also an avid supporter of all three schools now located in Chapel Hill.
Mr. Stinson was an accomplished photographer and loved taking pictures of his children's soccer playing and trains, both of which he was an avid enthusiast. He was also a lifelong “Trekkie”.
Mr. Stinson is survived by his wife of 35 years, Vickie Ghee Stinson, Holt’s Corner Comm.; children, Ian Sean Stinson and LaDonna Lynn Stinson, both of the Holt’s Corner Comm.; beloved mother-in-law, Marjorie Rigsby Ghee, Holt’s Corner Comm.; sister-in-law, Vivian Ghee Hall, Holt’s Corner Comm.; nephews, Joshua (Melissa) Hall and Jedidiah (Maegan) Hall; great nephew, Charles Aubrey “Chip” Hall; furry babies, Jill, MoJo and Aubrey.
Family members will receive friends on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Grooms officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Cothran Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County.
Memorial Donations in Memory of Ron Stinson may be made to an educational fund established at First State Bank in Chapel Hill.
