Mrs. Rosa Mae Laws, age 83, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Monday, May 12, 2014 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Mrs. Laws was a life long resident of Chapel Hill and was a daughter of the late Jones Adgent and Agnes Chumbley Griffin. She was a retired employee of the State of Tennessee, Department of Parks and Recreation having retired from Henry Horton State Park State Park in Chapel Hill and was a mother to many, many children. Mrs. Laws was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Laws, who died in 1989 and by sisters, Willie Skinner, Lula Mae Griffin, and a brother, Luther Ray Griffin.
Mrs. Laws is survived by Ted L. (Janice) Rozell, Jr., Murfreesboro, TN, Molly (Wendell) Phifer, Chapel Hill, TN, John (Carol) Rozell, Murfreesboro, TN, whom she loved as her children; Caitlin Rozell, Kelly Rozell, Ben (Jennifer) Shain, Bart (Kimberly) Shain, whom she loved as grandchildren; sister, Brownie Leverette, Chapel Hill, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
