Ruth Scott

Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Matney Scott, age 95, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Sunday, April 12, 2020 in Columbia, Tennessee. Mrs. Scott was born in Marshall County and was a daughter of the late Albert Lee and Grace Curtis Matney. She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and very active in the Chapel Hill Senior Citizens Center. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was also preceded in death by a son, Frankie Scott and a granddaughter, Brandie Scott.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her daughters, Patty (Buddy) Willis, Lewisburg, TN, Debbie Watson, Chapel Hill, TN; daughter-in-law, Wanda Scott, Chapel Hill, TN; grandchildren, Denise (John) Hopper, Columbia, TN, Paul Gatlin, Lewisburg, TN, Roxanne (Scott) Broadaway, Lewisburg, TN, James (Leeann) Scott, Lewisburg, TN, Melanie (Jason) Spitzley, Chapel Hill, TN, Joey Skinner, Chapel Hill, TN; great grandchildren, Cody Liggett, Tyler Newcomb, Naomi Hopper, Sabra Hopper, Paisley Hopper, Laiklyne Gatlin, J. B. Gatlin, Katherine Southerland, Meghin Scott, Sydney Scott, P. J. Broadaway, Nathan Broadaway, Gracie Broadaway, Bryton Spitzley, Camden Spitzley, Aidan Spitzley, Elijah Skinner, Madison Webb, Jordan Voss, Jase Manier; seven great great grandchildren.

In light of the Coronavirus health crisis, there will be no visitation and a private family graveside service will be held with burial to follow in Talley-Moore Cemetery in the Rally Hill Community of Maury County with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Please know that online tributes thru the funeral home website are equally appreciated.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
