Sandra Lynn Sanders

Mrs. Sandra Lynn Handke Sanders, age 78, of Snellville, GA , passed from this life on Thursday, January 2, 2025 in Murfreesboro, TN. Mrs. Sandra was born in Atchison, KS on July 18, 1946 to the late Herbert Ervin Harold Handke and Zelma Lavon Cox Handke. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister (Anita Nance), and other relatives.

Sandra enjoyed spending time with her family and dogs. She was an avid member of her church at Oak Road Lutheran Church in Snellville, GA. She taught Sunday School for over 50 years and was dedicated to her church choir. She enjoyed spending time on her back porch while viewing her beautiful yard decorations. She spent many hours in nature hiking and kayaking across the state of Georgia. Sandra was someone who was always looking to play games with you. She enjoyed playing 6500, Bunco, Rummikub, and especially Farmville on her Ipad.

Mrs. Sandra Lynn Sanders is survived by her husband of 59 years, Earnest Wayne Sanders of Snellville, GA; her children, Carrie (Trevor) Shattles, of Hoschton, GA. Wendy (Tony) Underwood, of Eagleville, TN, and Darrell (Melissa) Sanders, of Snellville, GA; grandchildren, Amber Underwood, Brandon (Meghan) Underwood, Shelby Shattles, Hannah (Aden) Munden, Cody (Breanna) Shattles, Madison Sanders, Wyatt Sanders, and Dylan Sanders; great grandchildren, Everly Underwood and Adelynn Underwood as well as two on the way, Henry and Baby Shattles; and her two adored dogs, Misty and Lady Val.

The family will gather to celebrate her life in Georgia at Oak Road Lutheran Church, 1004 Oak Road, Lilburn, Georgia, 30047, on January 19, 2025 where she dedicated many years of service.

Visitation will be at 2:00 pm with the service following at 3:00pm.

There will be a gathering of family and friends following the service at the Snellville Masonic Lodge at 2785 Lenora Church Road, Snellville, Georgia, 30078.
