Sara Davenport

Mrs. Sara Lena Thomas Davenport, age 83, of Lewisburg, TN, died Sunday, October 10, 2021 at her residence. Born in Williamson County, TN, Sara was a daughter of the late James Fletcher and Fanny Cole Harper Thomas. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davenport is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Clark Davenport, who passed in 1994, a son, Lawrence Edward Davenport, a brother, Dan German Thomas, and best friend, William Messick.

Sara was a homemaker whose life’s work was taking care of her family.

Mrs. Davenport is survived by her daughters, Sarah Ann (Jackie) Moore, Brenda Lee (Jimmy) Moore, Carolyn Marie (Scott) Barnhill, Dorothy Gayle (Thomas) Love, Deborah Kaye (Kelly) Beiderman, Sandra Lynn Thoni, Kathy Faye (Kenny) McKennon; sons, Larry Eugene (Lisa) Davenport, Joseph Clark Davenport, Harry Jasper (Stephanie) Davenport; sister, Mary Elizabeth Thomas; brother, Fletcher Thomas, Jr.; 27 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Mrs. Sara will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 2:30 PM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Brother Scott Ballard officiating. Interment will follow in College Grove Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and all the grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
