Mr. Shawn Thomas Rudolph, age 51, of Chapel Hill, TN, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at his residence.
Shawn was born in Aurora, IL, to his late parents, John Thomas Rudolph II and Sandra Marguerite Bowers Rudolph. He was a technician with Ford Motor Company. Shawn was the kind of man who liked his privacy yet was the best party thrower around. He had his sound system going, lights in sync and made the best margaritas ever. He made sure everyone had a good time. But his biggest passion was his music. Shawn's first love in music was Rush. He was crazy about Getty Lee and taught himself how to play bass guitar. As his abilities grew, he picked up the regular guitar too. He could play just about every bass line Getty laid down. Shawn was very good and passionate about his music. He had a huge range of musical genres under his belt. No matter what the family was doing, he would stop, sit down and start playing. That meant the family stopped and sat down too!
Shawn loved his children so much, but his grandchildren just hung the moon. They called him Grandbuddy. He was so proud of them and would do anything for them. He was the light in the dark, was kind and understanding and was such a joy to be around. He was our favorite curmudgeon, always with a smart remark and a joke. He will be sorely missed.
Shawn is survived by a daughter, Arielle Rudolph, Nashville, TN; sons, Jonathan Tandy Rudolph, Gallatin, TN, Alex Ryan Rudolph, Spring Hill, TN; sisters, Kyndel Renee Rudolph-Trejo, Chicago, IL, Patricia Waine Rudolph-Brittain, Spring Hill, TN, Nicole Lynn Rudolph-Fletcher, Spring Hill, TN, and Michelle Lynn Rudolph-Bradsher, Michigan; 5 grandchildren, Isabella, Roman, Tristan, Celeste, and Dimitri; several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 6, 2020, from 12 noon unitl 2:00pm at Lawrence Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place following visitation at 2:00pm in the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with family and friends sharing stories about Shawn.
