Susanne Gardner

Mrs. Susanne Alexander Gardner, age 74, of Chapel Hill, TN, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at her residence.  She was born in Frederick, MD and was a daughter of the late Nelson Eugene Alexander and Lenore Lillian Hummel Alexander.  Susanne was a homemaker and a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.

Susanne loved listening to music and reading a good book.  She had a fascination with traveling and watching birds.  Most importantly, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Gardner is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Mr. Thomas Gardner of Chapel Hill, TN; children, Sheila (Gregory) Thorne of Castalian Springs, TN, Kacey (Matthew) Foutch of Greer, SC; 7 grandchildren, Lenore, Violet, Bergen, Holden, and Walden Thorne, Seth and Bekah Foutch; brother, James Garth Alexander of Boston, MA.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.  A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 316 North Horton Pkwy., Chapel Hill, TN with Rev. Kelli Hamilton officiating.  Interment will follow later in Little Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
