Sybil Marie Darnell Harper

Mrs. Sybil Marie Darnell Harper, age 89, of Chapel Hill, TN died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, following an extended illness. Born in Marshall Co., TN, Mrs. Harper was a daughter of the late Henry Clifford Darnell and Lizzie Lee Griggs Darnell. Sybil was the widow of John Thomas Harper who died in 2015. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Dean Sherrill; a brother, Dale Darnell; a grandson, Henry Thomas Lamb.

Mrs. Sybil was a graduate of the Class of 1952 at Forrest High School and a member of the Church of Christ at Hickory  Heights in Lewisburg, TN. She enjoyed crocheting and gave loved ones many pieces of her crochet work. She also enjoyed gardening and loved being with people. She retired from International Comfort Products as a payroll clerk with 31 years of service.

Survived by her daughter, Sharon Marie Harper Lamb of Chapel Hill, TN; a granddaughter, Scarlett Marie Lamb (Tommy) Garner of Chapel Hill, TN; a great-granddaughter, Saylor Marie Garner of Chapel Hill; a niece, Melissa (Terry) DURard; faithful friends, Jimmy Collins, Linda Knight, and Seth Warf.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, from 4 PM – 8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. Tuesday visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of service at 11AM in the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.
