Talric “Tal” Martin, age 49, of Laws Hill, died Mon., June 30, 2014. Tal was a native of Nashville and was a gifted guitarist and musician. He was a son of the late Thomas Grady Martin, Sr. and Norma Gann Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Steven Cole Martin and Joseph Claude Martin.
Tal is loved and will be missed by countless students and fellow musicians. He had an inimitable talent for “shredding” his guitar in the clubs around Nashville. He worked primarily out of is home studio. He was also a great chef, one of the few trusted with the catfish recipe at the original Uncle Bud’s. He will be remembered for his years of service spent organizing and delivering food for the homeless in Nashville.
Survivors include 3 sisters, Angie Martin-Burt of Chattanooga; Alisa Lynn Martin of Dallas, TX; Julie Martin Ezell and husband, Harley, of Chapel Hill; 4 brothers, Thomas Grady Martin, Jr. of Laws Hill; Joshua Ryburn Martin , Jason Rhett Martin and Justin Rory Martin all of Nashville; 6 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sat., July 5, 2014 from 2pm-4pm at Lawrence Funeral Home to be followed with a Celebration of Life Service at 4pm Sat.
