Mr. Thomas Carroll “T. C.” Blanton, age 72, of the Rover Community of Bedford County, died Monday, April 6, 2015 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Mr. Blanton was born in Bedford County and was a son of the late Franklin and Minnie Ellen Crick Blanton and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Blanton who died in 1976. He was a lifelong member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church in the Rover Community. Mr. Blanton retired after 34 years of service at Samsonite Corp. of Murfreesboro, followed by 9 years of service with Josten’s Corp. of Shelbyville. He was also a farmer and had a passion for restoring old tractors.
Mr. Blanton is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jane Perryman Blanton, Rover Comm.; children, Wesley Thomas Blanton, Rover Comm., Emily Blanton (Danny) Warren, Flat Creek Comm. of Bedford Co.; brother, Richard Lee (Helen) Blanton, Rover Comm.; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Warren, Kelsey Warren, Zack Warren and Makenzie Blanton.
Family members will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Scotty Sorrells and Rev. Jimmy Sorrells officiating.
