Tina Pugh Zabel, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on August 25, 2024, in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Born on July 23, 1962, in Melrose Park, Illinois, Tina was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. She dedicated her life to nurturing her family, fostering deep and lasting connections that will be cherished by those she leaves behind.
Tina shared a remarkable bond with her husband of 44 years, John J. Zabel. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising their wonderful children: Amanda (Bryan) Walker, Kristina Zabel, Albert (LaShelle) Zabel, and Irene (Ronnie) Gann. Tina took immense pride in watching her children grow, supporting them through every chapter of their lives. Her love only blossomed further as she became a proud grandmother to Johnathan (Demetria), Sean, Christopher, Jacey, Joseph, Jacquelyn, Jazzlyn, Alexzander, Khloe, Adilyn, and Weston. Most recently, she celebrated the joy of becoming a great-grandmother to Oakland, a testament to her legacy of love that will continue to thrive through her family. Tina is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline Lakhani.
While Tina experienced deep sorrow in her life, with the passing of her son, John J. Zabel, Jr., and her parents, Albert Glenn and Kathleen Bess Pugh, as well as her siblings, Linda Ashley, Tony Pugh, and Larry Pugh, she carried their memories with grace and strength.
Tina was known for her loving personality, often putting the needs of others before her own. She loved her family so much and created a home that was filled with laughter and joy. Her presence brought comfort and warmth, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of calling her family or friend.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on August 29, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM, both of which will take place at Lawrence Funeral Home, located in Chapel Hill, Tennessee.
Tina Pugh Zabel’s loving spirit will remain alive in the hearts of her family and friends, a beautiful remembrance of a life dedicated to love, support, and unwavering kindness.
