Tom Walls, Jr.

Mr. Tom Walls, Jr., age 83, of Unionville, Tennessee died Sunday, June 2, 2013 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  Mr. Walls was born in Williamson County and was a son of the late Mattie Ellen Thompson Walls and Tom Walls, Sr.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a retired barber with over 50 years of service.  Mr. Walls was a member of the Baptist faith, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion, Post 23, Shelbyville, TN.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Fred Walls, Herbert Walls and Ernest Walls, and by granddaughters, Jennifer Mitchell and Brandy Smith.

Mr. Walls is survived by his wife of 57 years, Billie Phillips Walls, Unionville, TN; children, Ricky (June) Walls, Unionville, TN, Janet (Mick) Stark, Unionville, TN, Tony (Tara) Walls, Unionville, TN, Christel (Frank) Preston, Lynchburg, TN, Connie (Carl) Miller, Berea, KY; two brothers, William Walls, Shelbyville, TN, Bedford Walls, Flat Creek Comm.; fifteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at  Doak–Howell Funeral Home, Shelbyville, TN.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Bro. Ronnie Leathers officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
