Wayne Blalock

Mr. Wayne Blalock, age 76, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Mr. Blalock was born in Maury County, Tennessee and was a son of the late Willie Myrtle Childress Blalock and William Robert Blalock, Sr.

Wayne was a graduate of Forrest School Class of 1961 and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a former dairy farmer and was a retired pipe fitter and insulator and was a member of the Heat and Frost Insulators Local # 86, Nashville, TN. After retirement, Wayne was able to enjoy his passion of being a very avid fisherman, much of which he did in Florida during the winter months. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Troy Blalock; brother, Travis (Sam) Blalock; and a nephew, Matthew Blalock.

Mr. Blalock is survived by his wife of 37 years, Shirley Blalock, Chapel Hill, TN; children, Tim (Karen) Blalock, Hermitage, TN, Todd (Sherrie) Blalock, Halls Mill Comm., Jill (Alvin) Parker, Rover Comm., Joy Blalock, Chapel Hill, TN, Gerry (Tammy) Glover, Anchorage, AK, Sherry (Charlie) Davis Sevierville, TN, Penny (Winky) Reed, Lafayette, TN; sisters, Regina Gilliam, Pottsville, TN, Norma Brown, Flat Creek Comm., Barbara Haynes, Flat Creek Comm.; brothers, Bill (Carol) Blalock, Gallatin, TN, Danny Blalock, Chapel Hill, TN; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Jim Day officiating.  Burial will follow in Ring Cemetery in the Pottsville Community of Maury County.

Nephews will serve as active pallbearers. Members of Forrest School Class of 1961 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
