William Alan Ervin

Mr. William Alan Ervin, age 75, of Chapel Hill, TN passed away April 26, 2025. Bill was born December 24, 1949 in Danville, IL to the late Howard Ervin and Dovie Clifton Ervin. He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Ervin of Rock Falls, IL. He was of the Methodist faith.

Bill enjoyed gardening, camping, and collecting coins, guns, knives, and stamps. He liked listening to country music, especially older country music, and watching old movies and serials such as Dark Winds and 1923. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, who were the lights of his life. Mr. Bill proudly served our country in the Vietnam War as a Navy Seabee. After his service to our country, he began working in maintenance for many years.

William is survived by his loving wife of 14 years. Wanda Ervin of Chapel Hill, TN; children, Billy Ervin (Jana Lamb) of Smyrna, TN, Becky Ervin (Jonathan) Lee of Manchester, TN, step-children, Lorrie Logue (Dan Fleming) of Chapel Hill, TN; brothers, Larry Ervin of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Joan Knight of Danville, IL, and Carol (Joel) Love of Lafayette, IN; 5 grandchildren, Rollin, Rocklyn, Willow Rudisill, Chelsea (TJ) Mack, and Rachel Ervin; 4 great grandchildren, Odette and Magnolia Mack, and Ryder and Gracie Cross; several beloved nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation with the Ervin family will be Friday, May 2, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home from 1PM until 2PM. A funeral service will be conducted at 2PM on Friday, May 2, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Ward Jones and Jamie Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery with Military Honors.
