William Stevie Holton

Mr. William Stevie Holton, age 73, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Sunday morning, February 13, 2022 at his home after an extended illness.

Mr. Holton was born in Chapel Hill and was a son of the late John R and Josephine Louise “Teenie” Campbell Holton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ronnie Lawrence.

For 25 years, Stevie was a pipefitter and insulator and member of Pipefitters Local #86. He then began a career in law enforcement and served as a police officer for both the Chapel Hill Police Department and later, the Marshall County Sheriff Department. Stevie was a member of Grove Hill Church in Chapel Hill where he served as a Deacon.

Mr. Holton is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharon Holton, Chapel Hill, TN; children, Robin (Randy) Hollingsworth, Belfast, TN, Dave (Mandy) Holton, Chapel Hill, TN; sister: Patricia Lawrence, Lewisburg, TN; brother, Ronnie (Mary) Holton, Lewisburg, TN; grandchildren, Logan (Delanie) Hollingsworth, Laiken (Jake) Zimmerle, Carson Holton (Austin Criswell), Luke Holton, Hayleigh Hollingsworth; great grandson, Britt Criswell.

Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. David Ghee officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.

Preston McDonald, Jake Zimmerle, Austin Criswell, Logan Hollingsworth, Keith Harber, Tommy Harber, Brian Osborne and Fred Penick will serve as active pallbearers. Members of Grove Hill Church in Chapel Hill will serve as honorary pallbearers.
